One baby was strapped on my back, while the other crawled in the playpen. I worked 12 hour days for months sanding and removing wallpaper, with one child. Ha! The house was starting to look nice, but there were still many things left. For this project, I was prepared to shell out a substantial amount of time and money looking for my dream house. For my budget to remain sound, I travelled with my three boys in search for bargains in estate sales. Every week, we spent Thursday to Saturday at garage sales and estate sales buying brand new furniture. After that, I repainted and smoothed the driveway during the workweek. My passion for furniture restoration began when I saw a style that was similar to this. No matter what, the house was already furnished. I had an area at the market, where I would sell objects. My collection eventually grew enough that the area I had was inadequate. At home, I started hosting open houses in which more than 1,000 people were able to come in to purchase anything they wanted from the first floor over the course of a weekend. Growing Days was founded in my own home. Growing Days wasn't just a thriving business but it was also a loving family. I was balancing the demands of what it was like starting a business while also being a mommy. Growing Days just fit. In 2013, my beautiful daughter Nora came along our 4th child. It was a great direction for my business but I also needed a vacation. I opted to take a little break from my antique furniture and stay at home with the children. It was time. It wasn't until a couple of months that my phone began to be ringing. People were calling me and needing help with their interior decorating and home improvements. They were mostly people who came to my open residence to buy furniture. In the following time, I took on clients at my pace. Soon I had several accounts and a home remodeling business. When I first heard about my home renovation business I was astonished. Actually I still kind of amused when I think of it.
